Internship Opportunity – Newton Investment Mangement – Immediate Start
Newton Investment Management Limited is a London-based UK asset management subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation with £43bn of assets under management. We provide a broad range of award-winning investment products and services to individuals, pension funds, charities and corporations. This is across various different asset classes and strategies. Newton has offices in London, Edinburgh and Leeds.
Newton’s 'thematic' investment process looks to identify the key social, economic and political changes in the world and then use these changes to identify investment opportunities. This discipline means that we have investment professionals from a wide variety of academic backgrounds, not just those that you would typically associate with finance. For example, we have people from social sciences, arts and humanities working within our investment team and in other senior roles. We are primarily interested in an individual's ability to follow independent thought processes to reach well-argued conclusions. We look for individuals who demonstrate a genuine interest in the world and how it is developing. We prize the ability to think laterally and consider the bigger picture, as well as the ability to focus on the detail. We look for individuals who are comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment. Self-motivation and strong communication skills are essential.
