Sports Marketing Internship Available at The Toro Company 8111 Lyndale Avenue South Bloomington, MN 55420 www.toro.jobs BUSINESS AREA: Golf Marketing within Toro's Commercial Equipment Division POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position will learn about and contribute to 3 key functions within the Marketing Discipline: - Product Line Management Assist with the strategic and tactical process of Annual Planning Learn about and contribute to the Sales Forecasting process Assist with Product Introductions Create web content, sell sheets, press releases, testimonials Direct and e-marketing campaigns (including social media) Assist with customer events as needed Help create programs to drive sales in key markets and/or key product lines Ensure ordering system and intranet content accuracy - Channel and Customer Relationships Communicate and liaise often with Distributor partners Assist with planning and execution of key customer events - Marketing Research Assist with collection of market research and "voice of customer" data to determine feasibility of new product concepts and/or markets Analyze and prepare reports using data generated from lead management tool Research and analyze the market opportunity of various state and federal contracts KEY BENEFITS GAINED FROM INTERNSHIP: - Introduction to Product Line Management - Gain an understanding of essential marketing research techniques that drive decisions in new product design and positioning - Ability to enhance verbal and written communication skills via numerous contacts to multiple customers and distributors - Experience in developing and documenting key marketing processes REQUIREMENTS: - Must be a junior in college working towards a bachelors degree - Marketing, Marketing Communications, or Finance background or degree in process - Excellent Communication and Analytical Skills ? requires strong ability to interpret and analyze various types of data, summarize, and clearly present findings - Proficient software skills including: Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.) Database/data mining experience a plus Web development or HTML experience a plus DATES REQUIRED: May - August 2012 (full-time) Possible part-time hours during Senior school year.
