Invention Analyst – Intellectual Ventures,Australasia & NZ recruitment
Due to a healthy growth, Intellectual Ventures ('IV') is seeking an Invention Analyst focusing on Next Generation Cloud Services for their Australasia office based in Sydney, Australia. Since their expansion in the region, the office has been introduced to collaborate with leading inventors, partner with pioneering companies, and invest both expertise and capital in the process of invention within Australia and New Zealand.
IV invests in the best of the several thousands of inventions received by funding further research and proof-of-concept, covering all the costs of gaining global protection, while sourcing the most appropriate global commercialization opportunities.

As an Invention Analyst, you are responsible for the following:
- Develop strong working relationships with inventors especially those n academic and research institutions
- Ensure inventors understand the invention topics and submission process
- Coach inventors to produce high quality inventions
- Provide feedback to inventors based on results of invention review
- Analyze and evaluate submitted inventions and establish purchase recommendations
- Participate in Invention reviews with International colleagues to determine whether to select invention for patenting
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience as a scientist, engineer in ICT or employee in the information and communications industry
- Deep technical skills and fluency with information technology developments especially as they relate to the development of Cloud Computing and the future of data centres is a MUST
- An understanding of both hardware and software technologies
- An established track record of developing relationships within technical communities within Australia
- Have an established network of relationships with professors, researchers, software developers and hardware experts
- Must have a minimum of a Masters degree (Ph.D. preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Energetic, outgoing with outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Desirable: knowledge of patents and patent application process.
