The Australian operations of this global, motor parts brand name is continuing to grow its market position. Due to an internal promotion the Inventory Planner role has become available and is pivotal to the on-going success of the business.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager the role involves the monitoring, planning and purchases of parts and supplies required for expected sales. Key to success in the position is the ability to maximise efficiencies and minimize the cost of purchasing and holding stocks.
Scope of responsibilities
- Responsible for the efficient planning and ordering of inventory, non-inventory and services.
- Objective is to maintain optimum inventory levels in the most cost effective manner
Duties involve
- Preparing reports for analysis and determining ideal reorder strategies
- Utilise computer software as a tool for analysis and planning to maximise efficiency
- Raising purchase orders as required to approved vendors and ensuring confirmation response for supply as per agreed terms
- Arranging best methods for shipping into warehouse from overseas and local suppliers
- Exercise due diligence in monitoring variables associated with stock on hand versus expected sales requirements
- Engage with purchasing team and relevant departments to ensure inventory is ordered and delivered on time
- Recommend continuous improvement initiatives to maximise efficiency in compliance with QA accreditation
Who would we like to speak with:
Your background in purchasing and planning will win you this position not necessarily your technical and motor industry experience. An FMCG Inventor Controller/ Planner history will be ideal.
