Inventory/Costing Accountant
Hays Senior Finance is currently working for a well known brand in search for a Qualified Cost Accountant.
Role:
The role is responsible for the achievement of all tasks as outlined below within the Financial Planning Section and any other tasks as required to support the Financial Planning Manager
Overall responsibility is for calculation of budget and actual Sales prices, parts costs, warranty costs and spare part sales.
Main Responsibilities:
o Liaison with procurement to understand the parts costs
o Calculate sales prices utilising the costs provided by procurement and analyse and understand any variances
o Update of the sales prices for changes in exchange rates
o Calculation of company revenue budgets including explanation of comparison to short term and mid-term targets
• Parts costs
o Liaise with procurement to produce the cost per unit for budget, forecast and apply to the budgeted volumes to produce the overall parts cost budget
o Calculation and reconciliation of total cost of sales
• Warranty Costs
o Liaise with the Market Quality department to calculate the budget and actual warranty costs
• Variance Analysis
o Reconciliation of price, mix and volume analysis of the gross margin, and explain any reasons for the price variance after liaison with the procurement department
o Reconciliation of the movement in the warranty rates and the provisions for special campaigns including explanation of the variance
• Spare Part Sales
o Liaison with an associated company to agree the monthly spare parts sales
o Calculate annual spare unit prices and analyse against prior year to explain movement for exchange rates, volume and price.
o Utilising prices and costs to calculate the monthly actual costs and budget
• Audit
o Co-ordination of all activities relating to cost of sales, inventory and warranty in relation to SOX and Financial audit
• Inventory
Suitable candidates will be Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA with experience from a manufacturing organisation with costing experience. Strong excel skills and strong communication skills
