Investment Accountant
Salary €50k – 55k
Permanent role.
Location: Dublin City Centre
Our client is a major player in the Insurance industry and has a requirement to hire an Investment Accountant within their Finance division in Dublin. This is a permanent position reporting directly to the Financial Controller and will partner with the business to provide financial support across transactions, pricing and month end financial reporting. This will suit a Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with experience in the Insurance Industry and investment management.
Key responsibilities:
- To prepare financial information required by Finance for the planning process and the quarterly annual regulatory returns.
- To participate with the management team in developing the company’s business and product range
- Monitor derivative positions and execute associated trades. Ensure all trade confirmations are reconciled and filed correctly.
- Management of unit linked fund pricing and transmission of prices to third party administrator on a daily basis
- Investment and treasury management for the insurance entity
- To assist with ad-hoc projects and analysis of company/fund performance
- Work with Finance/Investment functions in Regional and Group Management Office Insurance teams to ensure the team’s adherence to best practice and Group standards
- Liaise with Actuarial Function to produce annual reviews and reports.
- Act as Secretary of the Policyholder Investment Committee, prepare committee packs, take and issue minutes, and follow-up on actions arising.
- Support the Financial Controller in managing the investment function of the company
Ideal Candidate:
- Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACA / ACCA / ACMA or equivalent) with experience in Investment Management / Portfolio Management
- Exposure to life assurance or funds industry preferred, with experience of unit linked business an advantage
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
