This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Investment Accounting team in Glasgow.

As an Investment Accounting Manager you will be an integral member of the Investment Accounting team and will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the critical processes in the team are completed and operating effectively on a daily basis. This will include reviewing the various components of NAV, accounting records and regulatory and statutory reporting including financial statements.

The role will give you exposure to a wide range of business areas and stakeholders. You will be a deputy to the Head of Investment Accounting and will utilise Accounting, Investment, Control and General Business knowledge to make informed decisions thereby reducing the exposure to risk whilst adhering to the strict reporting deadlines.

As an Investment Accounting Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Full CA / ACCA / ACMA qualifications
Big 4 experience will be preferred
Demonstrable depth and breadth of expertise in a wide variety of areas within Fund Accounting operations environment
Proficient competency in all aspects of Investment Accounting, specifically including NAV Pricing, NAV Validation
Detailed knowledge of FSA regulations, IMA SORP and UK Unit Trust OEIC accounting requirements
Broad Fund Accounting knowledge
IAQ Merit award or willingness to work towards obtaining it (or be grandfathered under the TC scheme)
Excellent Client Management skills and ability to build key relationships
Excellent analytical, judgment prioritisation skills
Excellent Project Management skills
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
Very good decision making skills and willingness to take on accountability
Understanding of the financial markets, investment types and accounting policies
Market vendors system knowledge (Bloomberg, Reuters, etc.) is preferable but not essential

As an Investment Accounting Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
Assisting Head of Investment Accounting with management of functions within Investment
Accounting team on a day to day basis. This will involve managing approx. 10 direct reports
Preparing, managing and reviewing all MI, taking action where issues are identified
Reviewing all standard operating procedures, implementing and integrating new operating procedures into the operating model
Co-ordinating completion of business error documentation
Identifying areas of risk and work across departmental lines to manage these risks
Ensuring that the area is adequately resourced and staff trained to carry out their roles effectively to meet the requirements specified in the Service Level Agreements, and the standards set out by the regulators.
Working on projects across departments as delegated by the Head of Investment Accounting
Acting as subject matter expert in compilation of related training course materials
Relationship management for key outsourced activities relating to Investment operations

Location: Glasgow
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + £6,000 car allowance and excellent benefits
