Investment Accounting Specialist
A tier 1 Insurance company is setting up a new Asset Risk Data Team to manage asset and market data for ALM, Solvency II, and Investment Reporting. Through an in-depth knowledge of asset classes the Asset Risk Data Team will determine the policy for where data should be sourced and how it should be modelled.
My client is looking for a pro-active and detail oriented Investment Accounting Specialist to join the newly created Asset Risk Data Team. This role is for a numerate asset practitioner, or an individual with a numerate accountancy background, who will help with the acquisition of asset information from disparate sources, reconciliation and validation for the funds, and provide subject matter leadership for on going quantitative work. In addition, the role holder will have the opportunity to apply his or her knowledge on transformation projects in the asset data space.
Key Responsibilities
1. Help Interpret, correct asset movements and reconciliation against various balance sheets.
2. Coordinate source remediation of asset data exceptions.
3. Provide expert advice and develop policies around asset data for a number of senior reviewing committees.
4. Take a Lead SME role for ongoing transformation projects in the asset data space
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required
1. Strong asset accounting knowledge
2. Strong understanding of how market and asset data will modify the valuation
3. Strong data analyst skills
4. General knowledge a wide range of asset classes covering Credit Fixed Income, Rates and Interest Rate Fixed Income, ABS, Equities, Property
5. Some database knowledge including SQL
6. Exposure or experience within market data; gathering, validating and defining of attributes and requirements
