Investment Analyst
The Newark office of Prudential Mortgage Capital Company is seeking a bright and highly-motivated, recent (or soon-to-be) graduate from top undergraduate programs to join our team as an Investment Analyst. The Corporate Credit Investment Analyst position is typically a three-year assignment. Based on business needs, strong performance and mutual agreement, one or two year extensions may occur. The Corporate Credit team supports all of Prudential Mortgage Capital's capital sources and is responsible for analyzing and opining on the creditworthiness of sponsors, tenants, and borrowers, of mortgage loans. The successful candidates would play an important and integral role on the team. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to learn and develop a broad range of financial, analytical, credit underwriting, negotiation, and presentation skills. Responsibilities: · Provide superior analytical support on a wide variety of assignments, including financial statement modeling, industry research, monitoring portfolio credits, and assisting in special projects as necessary. · Assist with all aspects of the corporate credit underwriting process, including spreading financial statements, review of financial statement footnotes, reviewing supplemental information, reviewing covenant packages, researching industries, conducting comparable company analysis, analyzing risks and mitigating factors of potential investments, conducting various due-diligence assignments, and preparation of credit memos. · Monitor covenants and provide servicing support on the unsecured REIT/REOC portfolio. · Assist with general portfolio research requests/projects. · Interact professionally with loan origination personnel, portfolio managers and externally with borrowers, rating agencies and other investors. Strong quantitative skills and established analytical ability. Demonstrated interest in capital markets, finance and commercial real estate. Computer proficiency with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new and proprietary applications. Excellent communication, team work and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work both independently and as an integral member of a deal team. Prior experience in the finance field is a plus.
