Investment Analyst recruitment
New York City fee-based registered investment advisor with oversight on approximately $6.0 billion in assets for mostly for high net worth individuals seeks an investment analyst. The analyst will work directly with the Chief Investment Officer and focus on portfolio construction, asset allocation, and manager due diligence.
Required: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; Knowledge of portfolio theory and asset allocation.
Preferred Designations: Chartered Financial Analyst, either completed or actively seeking.
Preferred Tech Skills: Microsoft Excel, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg and Zephyr.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
a)Assisting with constructing and restructuring asset allocation strategies. This includes determining the optimal allocation to an asset class, choosing the ideal strategy to implement for that asset class, and performing due diligence on individual strategies including mutual funds, exchange traded funds, and separately managed accounts.
b)Creating investment related reports and communication. This includes both internal and external communication, as well as in depth research reports and strategy pieces.
Candidate will have high level of interaction with the firm’s financial advisors and potentially with clients. Must thrive in a very fast paced environment, have strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a team-focused work ethic. This is a small company and therefore the candidate must be willing to wear multiple hats and at times collaborate with all areas of the firm, from back office to front.
