Investment Associate, Infrastructure

We’re delighted to be representing one of Australia’s leading independently owned specialist infrastructure investors and managers. Focusing on assets across a broad range of areas including renewable energy, transportation, social PPPs, power and utilities; it offers investors sustainable long-term returns in assets essential to society and the economy. It is an exciting part of the market with a healthy flow of investment opportunities and strong demand over the longer term in Australia.

The team itself is diverse in background and reflects the multi-disciplinary approach the fund employs. It includes professionals from investment banking, law, funds management, chartered accountancy, government, consulting and infrastructure development. The structure is relatively flat and inclusive in operation, meaning there’s a broad exposure to all facets of the business, from fund raising to deal origination, execution and asset management. Partly due to the success the fund has experienced to date and also the personalities on board, the culture is upbeat, collaborative, entrepreneurial and social.

After another recent acquisition, the growth continues and an opportunity to join the team has arisen. The role will touch all areas of the business but with a particular focus in the early stages on asset analysis and transactional management. It is envisaged suitable candidates will have between 2 and 5 years experience in a transactional environment. First rate financial analysis skills are essential, together with project management experience, gained from either investment banking / corporate advisory, institutional banking, consulting or asset management. Prior exposure to infrastructure is required. Specifically, the recruitment process will look closely at someone’s ability to synthesise financial information on an infrastructure asset as well as their broader commercial read on an investment proposition.

This is a highly compelling role in an active fund manager in the Australian market, offering solid career progression and the opportunity to blend transacting with ongoing portfolio management.

East Partnership are being retained on this assignment, all enquiries to be directed to Alastair Chell.
