Investment Bank Risk COO / Business Manager

The Risk function at the Investment Bank is responsible for evaluating, monitoring and controlling credit risk, market risk and operational risk to ensure comprehensive and effective control and independent challenge to the Investment Bank in its commercial objectives.

 
Main Function
The Chief Operating Office (COO) function within Risk is responsible for the smooth operation of the overall Risk department, and is accountable to the Co-Chief Risk Officers.   The team is primarily responsible for facilitating key deliverables, challenging strategy and driving change in the organisation, as well as owning internal and external communication across the department and administrative activities such as managing budgets and headcount.

Main Duties

The Functional Risk COO will be a member of a team of Functional Risk COOs who are aligned to provide dedicated coverage and support to specific Risk functions.  The Functional Risk COO is primarily responsible for supporting the Functional Risk Heads in their key deliverables developing strategy and establishing the appropriate level of partnerships to facilitate management decision making. The role acts as a key stakeholder interface, establishing effective working relationships with the business, other infrastructure departments and colleagues within Risk.
