Investment Banking – A&D / Upstream recruitment

We are hiring at the following roles within the AD investment banking team: Group Head / Managing Director, Vice President, Reservoir Engineer and Associate in Houston.

Managing Director: MD's without previous MA experience in EP or AD will not be considered.  The candidates must excel at both selling and execution.  The AD Managing Director must have strong EP industry knowledge and experience, and able to leverage existing client relationships.  The ideal candidate would have been a chemical or geological engineer in a previous life and now working as an MD with a top-ranked investment bank covering EP and specifically AD.  The person must be technically excellent and a self-starter.  Must have a book of business and a rolodex of clients.  Must have demonstrated leadership and a track record of executing MA advisory transactions, specifically AD. 

Vice President: VP's without previous MA experience in EP or AD will not be considered.  The AD VP will work closest with the directors and help facilitate the interim between sourcing and execution.  Preferably, this person will have a technical/engineering background and have had a proven track record of execution and financial modeling in previous roles.  The VP will work closely with the Engineers, Associates and Analysts to oversee the execution of mandates, while also serving as a point of contact for clients, meetings, and conferences. 

Reservoir Engineer:  Must have a degree in chemical or petroleum engineering or geology.  Also must have a current role as an engineer, without these requirements you will not be considered. The firm would like to see someone who currently works as an engineer for a top oil and gas company, speceifically a domestic on-shore EP firm.  They will consider someone who also holds this role at a top investment banking AD team or Buy-side team. Specifically, the engineer will be responsible for all technical aspects of the deal, and working with the investment bankers to contribute to the financial valuation models and pitch book presentations.  Also, the Engineer will be responsible for creating data rooms and coaching the investment banking team on technical concepts as they pertain to specific clients and deals.

Associate:  Must have an EP or AD background, either as a current Associate on an investment banking team, or working within a top oil  gas or EP company, with proven financial modeling skills. The Associate will support the Engineer and senior bankers in all MA and AD transactions, including creating pitch books and marketing materials, developing financial models and valuations.
