Investment Banking Lawyer (Vice President)

Position Description

Morgan Stanley's Legal and Compliance Division based in London is seeking to hire a Lawyer whose primary function will be to support the Investment Banking Division ("IBD") in Europe.

Job Description:

Advisory
The Lawyer will be expected to devote his/her time principally to MA and Restructurings. The position will involve significant interaction with business units, both in the UK and across EMEA.  Responsibilities will include:

• General advisory for IBD including the MA and Industry teams, the Restructuring team and Corporate broking. Some experience of capital markets transactions would be useful.
• Reviewing IBD engagement and execution documentation.
• Execution assistance.
• Participation in conflict management process.
• Assistance in relation to litigation/regulatory investigations.
• Formulation and advice on Firm policy.
• Responding to consultation papers in respect of European and Global regulatory developments.
• Training.

Skills Required

Experience and Qualification:
• Qualified lawyer who may have 4+ years PQE, with a City background or international equivalent or investment bank.
• Relevant experience in public and private MA, including domestic and cross border MA, joint venture arrangements and principal investments; solid background in company law; familiarity with Takeover Legislation, Prospectus Rules, FSMA and Market Abuse Legislation.
• Excellent English required, other European language skills would be preferred but are not a pre-requisite.
