Investment Communications Specialist recruitment
BlackRock provides each of its UK pension and charity clients with a quarterly investment report. These reports deliver a detailed update on current and future market conditions together with detailed analysis of the performance and structure of the scheme. This information is delivered through a combination of written commentary, graphics, analytical and portfolio data. The firm also produces a wide range of annual and interim fund reports.
An editor is required to ensure that the commentaries that go into these communications are of high quality, written in a consistent style and delivered to agreed deadlines. The role will also involve management of other specific client communications as well as involvement in the broad range of other sales support activities and projects undertaken by the Product Engagement Group (PEG).
PEG is part of the Global Client Group (GCG) and supports the EMEA institutional sales effort through the development and maintenance of a broad range of product-specific tools, sales collateral, competitor analysis and distribution activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Reviewing, editing and approving market and fund specific commentary for client reports, annual and interim fund reports and factsheets. The post holder will ensure that all commentary is of the highest quality, client-friendly, written to a consistent style and delivered to agreed deadlines. The role will require liaison with colleagues and contributors (globally) including Product Specialists, Fund Managers and Relationship Managers and will work closely with the Client Reporting team to improve the reporting process.
2.Co-ordinating, managing and executing communications to EMEA institutional clients. This will include internal communications with the GCG team to ensure distribution lists are reviewed, and that Account Managers are aware of the timing and content of communications before they go out to clients. This will involve working with Spectra (our client relationship management tool), Account Managers, the Relationship Marketing Team, COO team colleagues and Compliance.
3.Development of new, and maintenance of existing, institutional product sales collateral (factsheets, fund guides, product snapshots, competitor analysis templates), maintaining the collateral library (e-Sink) and liaison with members of the US PEG team to ensure a globally co-ordinated approach.
Requirements:
- Associate Level with experience of editing investment commentary
- Experience of working in the institutional asset management market
- Investment knowledge, a good understanding of technical financial terminology related to investment strategy and asset allocation. IMC would be advantageous
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- An interest in economics, markets and all asset classes
- Project management skills, including an ability to move projects forward in a dynamic and complex environment
- Ability to integrate inputs from multiple stakeholders while maintaining strict editorial schedules
- Ability to liaise with management at all levels to ensure standards are maintained
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment – adaptable, reliable with a strong ‘can do attitude’
- Good software skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and ability to pick up other programs and use various BlackRock systems.
