The Investment Communications and Content Marketing function supports our BlackRock and iShares business in Asia ex Japan but can grow to include work to support activities in Australia and Japan.
Job Description:
This role is an integral part of BlackRock's Marketing team in Asia, acting as an investment communication resource responsible for developing high quality written content and messaging for client and marketing-led communications. The individual will work as a partner with other investment communicators in Hong Kong, London, and the US, and with a number of key departments within the business, to deliver written materials across a range of formats for a diverse client basis in line with strategic business priorities and messaging.
The overall goals are to increase the likelihood of a sale, better meet client needs by influencing intellectual debate on relevant industry trends and to achieve Brand/Market leadership in core asset classes.
Within the team, the investment communicator will be expected to contribute both web/digital content and offline copywriting for awards, brochures, advertorial and campaign-specific guides. However, the successful candidate will also be expected to own regular thought leadership projects and meet a wide range of ad-hoc requests.
- Create, coordinate and implement technical investment content and messaging across a range of marketing collateral (including print, email, direct mail and web content), advertorials and thought leadership
- Produce sharp, relevant and timely copy expressing complex ideas to non-technical audiences
- Work closely with other investment communicators and internal clients across the business, including senior management, to develop key messaging and content
- Conceptualize, outline, and execute collateral based on interview and other background materials
- Coordinate feedback and direction from contributors and coordinate trans-creation locally (on and offline)
- Work with design team on layout options
- Manage compliance/legal review; ensure copy is regulatory compliant
- Implementation of country-specific requests where local expertise is not available e.g. tailored brochures, advertorial, etc.
- Introduce metrics on all marketing and client-led communications and report on efficiency and effectiveness of the publications
- Develop a deep knowledge of institutional solutions and products and distribution channels.
Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant discipline
- Native English language with fluency in an Asian language advantageous
- Extensive investment writing and editing experience essential
- Proven ability to deliver sharp, relevant and timely copy to deadline and under pressure
- Strong track record in copywriting for print and web/digital.
- Ability to write across a range of formats, including brochures, award submissions, web copy, advertorials and thought leadership articles
- Experience in working in the asset management market, especially the institutional sector
- Understanding of financial terminology related to asset management industry
- Strong written and oral communication skills to enable the transmission of complex ideas to non-technical audiences
- Strategic and creative thinker with attention to detail and delivery focus
- Project management skills, including an ability to move projects forward in a complex environment
- Ability to integrate input from multiple stakeholders while maintaining editorial schedules
- Ability to liaise with management of all levels
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment - adaptable, reliable with a strong 'can do attitude'
- Able to operate in a fast-paced environment with flexibility in regards to changes in strategy and project plans.
