We are currently recruiting graduates, masters students or individuals with 1-2 years’ top-drawer financial services experience to join our Investment Consulting and ALM/Investment Strategy teams. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and attributes:
- Excellent academic record (minimum 2.1 undergraduate degree awarded/to be awarded) and a highly analytical mind;
- Strong Interest in finance and capital markets;

- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills;
- A flexible approach, high personal standards and attention to detail.
Investment Consulting:
Redington’s Pension Risk Management Framework helps clients get fully funded with the minimum level of risk. We work with clients to develop a clear, transparent, actionable pension framework that can be used by both the corporate sponsor and the trustees to work out a contribution schedule, recovery period, required investment return and appropriate level of risk. This allows for the inclusion of innovative and creative ideas, for example, groundbreaking transactions with respect to non-cash contributions and “FlightPlan Consistent Assets”.
As a member of the Investment Consulting team you will be responsible for:
- Assisting Directors on client accounts and gaining client exposure right from the start.
- Working closely with Asset Liability Management/Investment Strategy and Manager Research teams to deliver the highest quality of work possible, and attend client meetings to deliver this work.
- Aiding Directors to prepare pitch books and responding to Requests for Proposals.
- Keeping up to date with financial markets across all asset classes and understanding how changes in these markets will impact pension funds. This will include researching new investment ideas and asset classes suitable for pension funds. Playing a vital role in producing firm publications, including RedVision - our weekly market commentary, and RedViews - ad hoc thought-pieces on topical issues.
Asset Liability Management Investment Strategy:
All of Redington’s Investment Consulting advice is based on rigorous and best-in-class analysis, the bulk of which is delivered by the ALM Investment Strategy – making that team the firm’s main delivery engine.
As a member of the ALM/Investment Strategy team you will be responsible for:
- Modelling asset classes such as equities, credit, bonds, derivatives, hedge funds and other alternatives, in conjunction with modelling pension funds’ contingent liabilities.
- Designing and implementing capital market and LDI solutions to reduce risk or increase expected return.
- Analysing the risks in pension funds under Redington’s three lenses approach: calculating the risk exposure of portfolio assets and liabilities; investigating key sensitivities to changes in interest rate, inflation, credit and longevity; and analysing the performance of assets and liabilities under various stress-tests.
- Monitoring the markets, and keeping abreast of key developments. You will also need to develop a solid understanding of products traded in the capital markets.
- Liaising with investment consultants to understand the needs of the client and using Redington’s proprietary analytics, to deliver first class advice.
This is a highly quantitative role and candidates should have a keen interest in statistics, modelling, and the ability to solve complex problems. We actively encourage applications from MSc and actuarial students, although this in by no means a prerequisite.
