Investment Consulting Analyst recruitment

Responsibilities

Actively participating in developing advice to clients by helping the lead consultant generate ideas on the future direction of particular clients

Working off own initiative on client specific projects

Coordinating all client work and timely delivery to consultant for review

Efficiently managing deadlines by effective delegation and being in a position to work independently with little guidance for routine matters

Participating in the success of the business through mentoring, and some contribution to thought leadership

Managing routine client projects, with modest oversight from a more experienced consultant

Serving as a strong second on small to medium clients and being a key member for larger client teams

Serving as day-to-day contact on smaller clients

Preparing meeting materials

Ensuring quality by reviewing work and applying technical expertise

Requirements

A degree in a related discipline (likely to be Mathematics, Economics or Business biased)

Working towards a professional qualification (mainly CFA or FIA)

Good experience of the financial services industry

Proven experience with a major consulting, fund management or banking firm, involved in advising UK occupational pension schemes

In-depth understanding of most applicable areas of investment theory

Good understanding of applicable regulatory and legislative rules, and of performance measurement techniques

Good understanding of all main asset classes, how they interact and the role they can play in meeting client objectives

Good knowledge of active and passive management and the different styles of active managers

Basic understanding of pension liabilities and the asset-liability process

Basic awareness of some of the key alternative asset classes and their use within an asset portfolio
