Investment Director recruitment
Our Client, a well-funded and new to market venture capital fund are seeking to hire an Investment Director to join their team. The investment range will be circa 1-5 million in each Portfolio Company and focus on emerging sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, technology, cleantech, medtech and high potential start-ups.
This is an extremely exciting opportunity for the right candidate to get involved with this fund from an embryonic stage and help drive the strategy behind it. There is significant support behind the fund for Irish entrepreneurs who possess the ambition, vision and expertise to build businesses capable of competing in emerging sectors or gaining market-leading positions in the Irish market. Investments will be made with a long term view to realising a capital gain over a five to seven year period.
The role:
- Evaluate market conditions in existing and prospective new investment categories in emerging sectors and recommend investment strategies related to these sectors
- Lead all phases of the investment process for new opportunities: origination, evaluation, execution, monitoring, and exiting
- Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis used in the underwriting of potential investment
- Exploit industry contacts and expertise to ensure first mover advantage in potential new investments
- Leading and mentoring deal teams – typically 2 or 3 people
The Candidate:
- A background and strong track record in venture capital, private equity, corporate finance or management consulting
- An established professional network in either one or a number of the emerging sectors
- Strong analytical, modelling and reporting skills
- Experience of leading and mentoring a deal team
- A passion for growing companies and emerging sectors
- A professional qualification or extremely strong academic track record
