INVESTMENT GRADE PORTFOLIO MANAGER AND TRADER
Position Summary
PIMCO is seeking to recruit a senior level investment grade credit portfolio manager and trader based in Newport Beach to augment the existing portfolio management team. PIMCO's dedicated corporate bond assets are over $200 billion with roughly $500 billion in total investment grade credit exposure across all portfolios at the firm.
The position will be responsible for generating investment ideas, implementing strategies, trade execution and assisting with the day-to-day management of the firm's global corporate bond portfolio. He or she will have a strong understanding of relative value and fundamental credit analysis, knowledge of portfolio/risk management and an overall interest in macroeconomics and fixed income markets.

Major Responsibilities
• Perform relative value analysis across a credit debt maturity schedule, between cash and CDS and throughout the capital structure
• Generate trade ideas within the capital structure, between credits and across asset classes as appropriate (cross-over, HY, EM corporates and bank loans)
• Assist in the day-to-day management of the firm's global corporate bond portfolios.
• Execute trades and coordinate information flow for the Investment Grade Corporate Desk.
• Communicate issues, market fluctuations and general news to the Investment Grade and generalist Portfolio Managers.
• Contribute to the formation of the team's market views and integrate them into client portfolios where appropriate.
• Strategize with Portfolio Managers on methods of adding or reducing exposure in industries or individual credits.
Position Requirements:
Skills and Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years of experience investing in IG Credit. Buy-side experience a must.
• Understanding of basic fundamentals and concepts of portfolio/risk management and index products. Experience trading CDS is required.
• Strong credit skills and judgment; experience as a credit analyst would be a strong plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships.
• Team player coupled with a sense of ownership and accountability.
• Strong academic credentials and achievements; MBA preferred.
• Unassailable ethics and integrity.
