Investment Manager – UK Equities recruitment

We provide investment management services to private clients, trusts, charities, pension funds and ifas. The company manages 5 global, multi asset, unconstrained OEIC funds as well as segregated accounts.

As a result of our continued expansion, we are seeking to recruit a senior investment manager into our small investment team, in order to continue the strong performance of our UK equity portfolios. The successful candidate will also be involved in the formulation of CAM’s global, multi asset house view, and in the marketing of the CAM investment proposition to clients and potential clients, alike.

Job Summary:

The role reports directly to the CIO, and will primarily be focussed upon:

(i)                 performance driven management of CAM’s UK direct equity portfolios

(ii)               effective marketing of CAM’s global, multi asset investment proposition

(iii)             proactive contribution to the formulation of CAM’s global, multi asset House View

Content:

• lead the UK equity stock selection process, undertaking fundamental analysis of UK equities across all sectors

• manage and monitor CAM’s UK equity investments within CAM’s defined  risk parameters

• analyse third party funds, when appropriate, and provide associated investment recommendations

• communicate and brief all client facing staff at CAM re: investment positions, strategy and performance

• market the CAM investment proposition (in totality) to clients and potential clients

• proactive and effective contribution to CAM’s multi asset house view discussions

• actively support the investment team across asset classes

• motivate and help develop the investment team, in order to maximise its potential

 Candidate specification

• CFA or ASIP qualified, 6+ years into investment career

• In-depth understanding of UK equity market and experience of direct UK equity investment preferred. Although, candidates with experience of direct equity investment in other geographies may also be considered.

• Track record of managing high conviction equity portfolios

• Experienced at marketing investment propositions.

• Citywire or Pension fund consultant ratings, although not a prerequisite, would be an advantage

• Exposure to strategic asset allocation decision making would also be an advantage.

Salary will be commensurate with experience. The role offers the possibility of equity participation.
