Investment Manager Portfolio Risk recruitment

Cbus is one of Australia’s largest industry superannuation funds and the industry fund for the construction, building, infrastructure and allied industries. Established in 1984 Cbus provides superannuation benefits to approximately 670,000 members, has assets in excess of $18 billion, and accepts contributions from more than 75,000 contributing employers.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Investment Management this newly created senior role will be required to undertake quantitative and qualitative assessments and reporting of the Fund’s investment portfolio risks. The role will also be required to identify and implement investment risk mitigation strategies.

This role will operate within the investment risk management framework developed within the Risk Management Plan for the entire Fund, including the monitoring of the investment risks of the Fund against the tolerances set within the Fund’s plan.

Ideally the successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in finance, investments, statistical or a related discipline possibly with post graduate level qualifications (CFA or equivalent will be well regarded). The successful candidate will also have relevant experience in a qualitative investment risk monitoring and assessment related role.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a high level of comfort working in a membership based organisation, a collaborative communication style and the ability to manage the expectations of and gather the input and expertise from a wide variety of stakeholders. Your background may include investment consulting, funds management or superannuation.
