Investment Officer II recruitment
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Performs business analysis, configuration and support for cloud computing, SaaS solutions, such as Salesforce.com, or customized COTS applications
- Supports business users through solving complex investment technology issues related to current processes or by implementing new technology solutions
- Coordinates with business program staff, solution vendors and technical resources to help analyze investment tools, define technology enhancements, evaluate solution alternatives, analyze impact of proposed solutions and manage implementation and service levels
- Performs investment data analysis, develops complex reports, macros, extracts and identifies data management and reporting improvement opportunities to enhance investment performance
- Effectively translates business requirements and develop “As is” and “To be” models for technology processes in the Investment Office
Minimum Requirements and Experience:
- Equivalent to graduation from college preferably with major work in business administration, economics, finance, mathematics, or a closely related field
- Three years of increasingly responsible investment analysis experience for a public agency or private financial institution, insurance company, pension fund, endowment fund, investment firm, real estate development and investment firm, or other private corporation or entity having a major investment management program
Desirable Qualifications:
Individual should have a positive attitude, possess strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment, and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. A highly detailed-oriented approach to assessing technical and business requirements, strong analytical skills with aptitude for problem solving, documenting open issues, and coordinating resolutions with users. Accuracy and thoroughness are absolutely essential. Individual should have exceptional skills with Excel, MS Access, Visual Basic knowledge and experience supporting investment systems and investment business processes.
- MBA or possession of an advanced degree in finance or another applicable technical field
- Professional certification such as CFA
- Experience in any of the following areas is desired:
- Familiarity with System Development Life Cycle and Straight-through processing automation
- Data mapping and conversion, data warehousing or database design concepts, management, reporting services
- Experience with application integration projects
- Experience with investment data and market data integration
- Experience with applications such as Reuters, Bloomberg, Charles River, Blackrock Aladdin, and Factset, FIX or other technologies used in investments
- Familiarity with middleware applications or business intelligence tools in the processing of investment data
- Experience with integrating ASP or SaaS products
- Familiarity with IT project management and vendor management practices
