Today, we provide investment consulting, financial planning and proprietary capital markets research to over 900 clients, including charities, colleges and universities, foundations, medical institutions, museums, other endowed nonprofit institutions, and families. More than 200 of these clients are domiciled outside of the United States.
Cambridge Associates’ clients represent over US$2.5 trillion in assets in all asset categories, including equities, bonds, non-US investments, real estate, venture capital, hedge funds, leveraged buyout funds, oil and gas partnerships, and many other types of investments. We monitor the performance of nearly all major institutional investment managers and provide an advanced monitoring service for our clients to evaluate alternative assets managers such as venture capital and real estate firms.

Department Overview:
The Performance Reporting Department supports the firm’s consulting practice by providing investment performance measurement and evaluation services to our clients. The department is responsible for all aspects of performance reporting including data analysis, presentation, and development. The Group provides three distinct products, the Marketable Performance Report, the Marketable Alternative (MALT) Performance Report, and the Private Investments (PI) Performance Report. Currently, we provide over 1,500 client-specific reports to endowed universities, high net worth family trusts, and other not-for-profit institutions.
Cambridge Associates plans to build a performance reporting presence in Singapore to most effectively support clients in the region. The Analyst will be the first to serve a dedicated performance reporting role in the Singapore office.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collect, organize, and analyze transaction, valuation, and performance data from client’s custodian and/or investment managers and input data into proprietary database
- Monitor performance figures provided by external/internal sources to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Track changes within client portfolios (investment manager fundings/redemptions, cash flows, new private equity commitments, etc.) and share information with applicable parties
- Communicate with investment managers and custodians regarding changes and reconciliation of portfolios
- Compare fund returns to benchmarks; analyze and document any variances in the reported figures
- Generate and present monthly/quarterly performance reports to assigned client base or consulting team
- Assist in creation and maintenance of custom reports (hedging, liquidity, etc.) requested by client base or consulting team
- Interact with clients, consulting teams, and other internal departments to implement and monitor investment decisions and to respond to the broad investment reporting needs of the client, as required
Qualifications:
- BA/BS required with 2-3+ years of related work experience in financial industry
- Knowledge of investment vehicles and asset classes
- Experience with institutional investors, investment portfolio accounting, or performance measurement
- Strong attention to detail and experience reconciling valuations across multiple data sources
- Exceptional written, analytical, and statistical skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient communication skills to interact daily with colleagues in different positions, departments, and time zones
- Strong, proactive, customer-service oriented approach
- Ability to work independently and collectively as part of a team
- Highly motivated, self-starting, entrepreneurial spirit with intense desire to work hard and make a positive impact by improving processes
- Ability to work across time zones with international colleagues and clients
- Proven track record of taking initiative to improve processes
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
