Role Summary:
As an Investment Product Business Coordinator you will have the opportunity to work with the Public/Registered Investment Product team. Your focus will include coordinating the firm-wide regulatory reporting process, supporting the TIAA-CREF Funds Operations Committee as well as projects that will include financial analytics, competitive research, modeling and presentation preparation. The position will report to the Managing Director who oversees pricing, profitability and product policies for the T-C Mutual Funds and CREF Annuities. This position will provide a high-level of exposure to the company and the opportunity to works across multiple functions and projects. Success will require a can do attitude, curiosity and the ability to be self-directed while collaborating in a team oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
Regulatory Reporting:
- Responsible for scheduling and coordinating activities of an enterprise-wide working team to help ensure that all mandated internal and regulatory deadlines are met in order to timely file complete and accurate SEC registration statements (including prospectuses, SAIs and supplements)
- Responsible for ensuring effective team collaboration from various levels of management and partners throughout the organization
- Coordinate with business partners on an ongoing basis (Legal, Investor Communications, Fund Administration and others); work to identify data and narrative disclosure updates for the SEC registration statements
- Ability to help meet critical internal and regulatory deadlines; where appropriate, understand and assist in the operation of the internal content management system (CAPS) for registration statement disclosure
- Facilitate updating of product management related information as well as coordinating with investment management (investment objective, investment strategies and risk parameters)
Funds Operations Committee Support:
- This Board committee meets 7 times a year, this individual will coordinate each meeting and make sure that all materials and agenda items are addressed, in general:
- Manage the overall Committee material process with the Secretary of the Operations Committee and the Corporate Secretary
- Responsible for assigning ownership and expected deliverables of content and data requests for each Operations Committee meeting
- Receive, collect and review material from various preparers for assembly of Committee books
- Work with appropriate parties to make sure that agenda items are all addressed with accurate information/responses to the Committees' requests
- Responsible for the distribution of Committee materials (electronic and hard copies) to all trustees and executive management team in a timely manner
Funds Operations Committee Support (cont'd):
- Streamline coordination process of materials with Corporate Secretaries Office so that it can become more efficient and effective going forward
- Work to support the Secretary of the Operations Committee in all capacities which may require additional support at the Board level
Financial analysis and general project management:
- Understand and be able to analyze both business line and product profit and loss statements
- Coordinate and assist Managing Director lead projects and work-streams focusing on such things as: registered investment products, financial analysis', operational and administrative assignments
- Assist in project management of the investment advisory contract renewal process under Section 15(c) of the Investment Company Act,
- Financial modeling, power-point and presentation preparation, research/analysis, industry competitive intelligence
- Liaise with corporate departments, including but not limited to: Finance, Fund Administration, Legal, Compliance and Operations as well as external vendors
- General coordination, administration and organizational assistance
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Three to seven years of business experience
- Financial, Investments or Securities background; understanding of registered investment products and/or investments industry experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook
- Bachelor's degree required
Desired skills: (preferred skills not required)
- Excellent communication, management and organizational skills, be able to lead when necessary and facilitate
- Ability to work under pressure; must be highly detailed; good sense of judgment
- Knowledge of SEC disclosure and regulatory documents and Investment Company Act of 1940
- Understanding or exposure to Mutual Fund Boards of Directors and Executive Management relations
- Adobe Acrobat Professional expertise
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
