Investment Products Platform – Team Manager
The IPP MO is in its early stages as a defined group and part of this role will be consolidating existing functions in London, Dublin and, recently acquired, Luxembourg into a standardised whole. It will also require the successful candidate to work closely with the Business to identify opportunities to move functions from the Business into the Middle Office.
In addition to which will be the strategic build of the IPP function front to back, therefore the candidate will need to help design a functional architecture with the Business and other logistics functions to enable the rapid issuance of all products related to the function. The functional design will fall into 4 broad categories:
1.Efficient Management of IPP Resources – Project prioritisation, Budget Control, Cost Charging Models (both internal and external), Standardised Approval Processes etc.
2.Increasing Operational Capacity – Outsourcing of Corporate Administration and selection of Custodian and Providers for the Funds Business, Due Diligence across all Operational functions, creating an integrated but independent Product Management Function within the Middle Office.
3.Building Scalable Sales and Client Service Infrastructure – Designing a Middle Office control around the Distribution process, the creation of a Sales Support function and helping to design and produce presentations and online content.
4.Enhancing Risk Management Governance and Control Capabilities – Understanding and fulfilling all Regulatory reporting requirements, helping to define and implement the chosen Business Risk Management tools, developing a robust governance structure with the Business and all other logistics functions, designing and implementing a Product Database and efficient filing and storage system, developing a repository for all Product related assurances and building out the SPE control and Onboarding framework.
The successful candidate will need a thorough understanding of the Derivative product set, a strong project and infrastructure design skill set and excellent people management skills.
The team is very much in its infancy and so it is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to get in at the start and really design and develop the function.
The IPP Business is a newly created platform that will look to cover Public Distribution, Investment Products, Structured Funds, Real Assets and Variable Annuities. The team will constitute a mix of FO (Structuring, Business Management, Sales), Legal, IT, Product Management/Middle Office, Finance and any other applicable logistics functions.
The IPP Product Management./Middle Office function will form part of a wider team that covers Equity Derivatives, Global Synthetic Equity and Risk Exposure management.
