Investment Programme Manager x2 recruitment
An Investment Manager are embarking on a large programme of change to upgrade there global portfolio management and data platforms and implement scalable enterprise solutions for OTC derivatives and Investment Risk.
They are looking for experienced Programme Managers to supplement there existing capabilities in the various steams of the project: Investment, Data and Core.
Generic Overview of Programme Manager roles
- To establish and own a vision for the programme stream and communicate this effectively across stakeholders and project teams
- To build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across your programme
- To work in a matrix organisation responsible to the Programme Director, IT Delivery Directors and other senior stakeholders
- To work within a team including managers of other programme streams and within an overall programme
- To manage programme of projects to budget and timescales to deliver the agreed functionality using the IT lifecycle, processes and procedures.
- To manage a programme of projects within the overall Investment Platform Programme and manage the communication to enable this.
- To ensure business requirements / needs of the business units are accurately identified and ensure that effective solutions are delivered in a timely and cost effective manner.
- To liaise with external suppliers / vendors to ensure effective implementation of 3rd party applications.
- To manage and support the testing and implementation of business initiatives
- To manage investment stakeholders with a disciplined approach to prioritisation
Essential Skills
- Strong programme manager with good communication, planning and leadership skills
- Have a demonstrable track record of successful programme delivery within an Asset Management organisation.
- Proven delivery record of managing complicated programmes to time and budget
- Experience of delivery and governance frameworks based on industry standards such as Prince 2
- Experience leading and motivating teams of project managers, business analysts, developers and testers
- Have experience of the full project lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering through to implementation and on going support.
- Experience of both product implementation and build projects
- Strong knowledge of buy-side investment processes including Fixed Income, Multi Asset, Equities and LDI
- Strong supplier management experience
- Strong communication skills and a consultative approach coupled with a “can-do” attitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Inter-personal skills; tact, patience, courtesy, good listening skills.
- Strong self-organisation, time management and prioritisation skills.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Ability to operate under pressure and deliver to demanding deadlines.

Specific Skills Required – Programme Manager role 1
• We require an individual with a proven track record of delivering large scale global programmes
• Able to show demonstrable delivery of benefits to portfolio managers
• Track record in implementing business change and transformation projects in at least one of the following asset classes Fixed Income, Multi Asset, Equities and LDI
• Successful global delivery of an OMS (such as Charles River) is essential
• Experience of upgrading or implementing Charles River would be a clear advantage
Specific Skills Required – Programme Manager role 2
• We require an individual with a proven track record of delivering large scale global data programmes particularly focusing on investment and market data
• Track record in implementing both the technology, business process and data governance required for an Investment data solution
• Strong understanding of securities, benchmarks, pricing, analytics and data quality processes as well as understanding of the complexities of managing and processing these in a 24-hour global environment
• Knowledge of Fixed Income and Multi Asset data environments would be a clear advantage
• Experience of data cleansing operational processes and toolsets
• Optionally, knowledge of data process outsourcing would be of interest
