The key elements of this role is to perform the ongoing research necessary to support and enhance Vanguard's investment methodology, serve as a resource for internal investment groups and participate in generating department-initiated topics that will be used by both internal and external clients/prospects. The position will be part of a small group responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust investment research effort at Vanguard.
Specifically the role will:
- Analyse investment research issues with a primary focus on asset classes, portfolio construction and asset allocation models;
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis and offer opinions and portfolio recommendations;
- Prepare written and statistical analyses as needed for clients, prospects, senior management and the media;
- Present analysis and results internally and on occasion externally to Vanguard’s clients or constituents;
- Participate in the ongoing review and enhancement of Vanguard's investment methodology;
- Participate in group discussions designed to identify and debate investment issues and potential research projects.
You are an experienced quant research analyst with outstanding hands-on technical research skills including simulation and econometric techniques. Knowledge and an interest in global capital markets and investment concepts are ideal. You will also possess strong written and verbal communication skills to interact successfully at all levels of the business, locally and globally. Impeccable academic achievement within a PhD in Finance or Economics or CFA fields of study is preferred.
