Investment Restrictions Monitoring Analyst recruitment
The Investment Restrictions / Guideline Monitoring Team (IGM) is responsible for the successful implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Sentinel guideline monitoring and surveillance system for discretionary investment management accounts (institutional and funds). The team loads and maintain all client accounts on the system and ensure the coding, maintenance and monitoring of alerts of the system. This involves working with, and training, all areas of the business and colleagues on a global basis, especially Portfolio Managers, Client Relationship Managers, Account Managers, Operations and Data, Information Technology, Compliance and Operational Risk Management and Control
The team is looking for a Guideline Monitoring Analyst. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring the highest standard for investment restrictions monitoring.
The main duties of this position are as follows:
• Performing detailed analysis of client Investment Management Agreements and seeking clarification of guidelines from the business where necessary.
• Performing similar analysis of the data requirements of Sentinel.
• Interpreting these guidelines and translating them into format that can then be coded onto Sentinel.
• Ongoing maintenance of the system throughout the duration of the implementation and beyond.
• Testing of all rules prior to going live (includes investigation and resolution of all breaches that occur in relation to tested accounts)
• Investigation and resolution of all breaches that occur in relation to an allocated number of client accounts.
• Assisting in the development of portfolio compliance surveillance for guidelines outside of Sentinel.
• Creation of test scenarios for new or enhanced data feeds or application enhancements.
• Data analysis, feed build and testing
• Contribution to the construction of procedures and controls in relation to the Sentinel team and the monitoring of client guidelines globally.
Candidate Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Experience in a financial services environment, preferably within Asset Management;
• A degree level education and/or possess professional qualifications in Business Studies, Accounting, Finance or Law is preferable but not essential;
• Experience of automated investment restrictions systems such as Sentinel and Charles River desirable. Alternative experience in financial data-intensive systems such as portfolio accounting and capital markets software also applicable
• An understanding of financial instruments data and attributes
