The Data and Pricing Groups are responsible for complete, accurate and timely data to support the investment process of BlackRock and BlackRock Solutions Clients. This data includes security terms and conditions, credit data, market data, and valuations necessary to correctly model and price all financial instruments in BlackRock's propriety trading system, Aladdin. In addition, some of this data also exists on legacy systems outside of Aladdin.

Job Description:

Analysts will gain a broad understanding of the key data elements necessary to support all functional disciplines within BlackRock, and an opportunity to go deeper on one or more asset type in order to specialize and support the portfolio management process. In addition, analysts will gain an understanding of our data model and all data vendor relationships necessary to support $5 trillion worth of assets, as well as participate on projects to improve processes and support new product rollouts. As a Data Analyst you will gain a unique perspective of BlackRock as you support most internal functions. Some analysts have moved on into Portfolio Analytics, Portfolio Management, Software Development, Risk Management, Business Analysis, or have furthered their careers within Data Management Operation. This role will be supporting data on legacy systems and Analysts will only support Aladdin as at when the need for those systems ceases to exist.

Qualifications:

• Candidate must posses Japanese verbal and written language skills

•Candidate must possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of fixed income, equity and derivative instruments as well as finance with the skills and ability to work in an entrepreneurial and team oriented environment.• Candidate must have enthusiasm for, and comfort with, working at a fast and furious pace while maintaining quality and the integrity of investment data.• Candidate must have flexibility regarding their work hours• Candidate must be able to work multiple shifts at different times throughout the year• Candidate must have the ability to quickly learn the intricacies of complex financial instruments and adapt their technical ability quickly• Excellent communication skills to enable clear articulation while working with internal and external clients• A college degree in Finance or Computer Science is required• Working knowledge of technical tools such as SQL, Unix commands, PERL, etc. is a plus
