Investment Specialist, Fixed Income (Asset Management) recruitment
The Investment Specialist/Capability Manager will be the key person responsible for supporting the existing Asia FI book of business across several strategies, as well as representing and promoting the global FI business within APAC. He/she will lead the FI input when working with local sales and marketing teams in developing new business, including product development, industry research and competitor analysis, and preparation for new business pitches / client portfolio reviews. The person will interact with and support the Asia FI and global Portfolio Management team with the goal of ensuring PM time is focused on portfolio management and minimizing resource required for maintaining and developing the business.
The role will report to the Senior Capability Manager in Sydney.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Have a thorough understanding of APAC fixed income markets and the UBS fixed income investment processes and capabilities, in order to represent the whole FI business within the APAC market
- Work very closely with the local marketing teams to represent the FI business and be the key first “go to” person for all their Asia FI needs. Lead product promotions to investors (institutional clients, wholesale business, and wealth management) by working with sales teams. Take co-ownership with sales to expand our product capabilities to the investors
- Lead and coordinate the fixed income input in completing RFPs, preparation of new business pitches and client portfolio reviews on Asian bonds
- Update and maintain all standard marketing materials for the Asia bond business and provide regular performance and portfolio strategy commentary as necessary
- Maintain new business pipeline and track forecast inflows/outflows; liaise with distribution channels to keep updated
- Provide back up to the Senior CM in Australia for broader APAC business
- Have a thorough understanding of FI trends in APAC market, involving competitor research, new products etc, in conjunction with the marketing teams
- Troubleshoot on all front and assist in responding to client / prospect inquiries
Requirements:
Core Competencies:
- Highly proficient in all aspects of FI portfolio management, investment and markets
- Excellent people, communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and writing skills
- Proactive, strategic and solution-minded team player with ability to both work collaboratively and take individual ownership/responsibility when necessary to drive the local business
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Ideal experience:
- 5+ years experience in capital markets, preferably including with a global AM business where they have either managed FI portfolios or been responsible for representing the FI business
- Strong academic background, [preferably in either economics/finance or related discipline]
