Investment Strategist, Securities Lending recruitment
BlackRock's Securities Lending Group delivers added value to our asset management services by lending equity and fixed income securities. The Securities Lending team is seeking an Investment Strategist to support the securities lending business, primarily serving the needs of our clients, consultants, and Global Client Group. Acting as the product expert, he/she will provide detailed technical expertise on the lending products and liaise with a number of groups across the firm, including trading, research, product development, sales, and relationship management in order to increase the firm's profitability and market share in the lending business.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a client service representative for the securities lending business, following up on client requests and inquiries.
- Serve as strategist for client meetings on Securities Lending/Cash Collateral management.
- Facilitate the sales process by improving client presentations coordinating the responses for RFPs.
- Support the education and demonstrate the value of the securities lending business, both internally and to consultants clients by keeping current with industry, regulatory, and market knowledge.
- Analyze potential lending opportunities, identify solutions to client problems as it relates to securities lending, and participate in white board discussions to influence the future direction of the business.
- Set the direction for client reporting needs as it relates to securities lending/cash collateral management. Work with Technology to drive improved client reporting for the lending business.
- Represent BlackRock's Securities Lending program at conferences, including managing the booth, hosting events for clients, and attending sessions to keep abreast of new developments in the market.
Qualifications
- MBA/CFA preferred.
- Prior experience with securities lending not required, but a big plus.
- Knowledge of fixed income markets preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years experience in the investment management industryExperienced with creating presentations.
- Excellent communication skills and quantitative skills.
- Knowledge of modern portfolio theory, index investing, asset allocation principles, and fiduciary responsibility preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
