IPV Production Specialist recruitment

This Independent Price Verification position exists within the BAC team in our wider Finance Department. It is a new role created to allow for a combination of business growth and enhanced reporting requirements as the bank grows in complexity and scope of product offerings.

The IPV group is responsible for performing the independent validation of the prices used within the banks books and records – testing these to externally sourced prices or market data providers. The role will require extensive liaison with the VTB product control team (BAC), as well as significant involvement with Front Office to discuss results and resolve differences. The role will also involve interaction with Technology Support in managing the current process and identifying and implementing tactical solutions to improve the monthly IPV process where possible.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities of a successful candidate will include (but not be limited to):
• Assisting with the management of the current IPV processes across various business lines.
• Utilising the Bank’s core processing system (Calypso) more effectively. There will be a strong emphasis on building out the current process and enhancing the quality of the IPV reporting (attributed IPV analysis, completeness of Greeks risk coverage, quantitative/qualitative measures)
• Improve on the timeliness, integrity and accuracy of IPV reporting.
• Involvement in the centralisation of the IPV function to London from various locations, and ensuring the consistency and governance of the process globally.
• Integrating new requirements into the process as required (KPI’s/Audit/Regulatory).
• Ensure that new products are considered and incorporated into the IPV process, as they are rolled out through the NPA process

The successful candidate should expect to gain increased and profound understanding on a number of different trade types and asset classes, as well as the opportunity to participate in defining strategies for improvements in existing workflows and creation of new ones. The role will involve a very broad exposure to all personnel and areas of the organisation.
 

Key Competencies and Qualifications

Extensive IPV or product control experience (ideally more)

•Strong technical understanding of financial derivatives
• Awareness of the Greeks for different asset classes
• Significant experience of using a broad range of mkt data providers – including Reuters, Bloomberg, Totem, MarkIT etc.
• Experience of Emerging markets (understanding of the nuances that exist around observability and the proxy process)
• They should also be able to work independently and have the ability to interact confidently with the Front Office discussing pricing issues.
• Process change and infrastructure (automation) improvement experience gained in a similar environment.
• Strong analytical skills and a proven track record for problem solving.
• Industry standard qualifications in the accountancy profession is beneficial.
