Job Description: Work as part of a multifunctional team to develop technology strategy for advanced sensor and senor systems with a focus on collaborative efforts that may includes Universities and Small Business ventures. Design and develop advanced infrared detector materials with a focus on 3/5 compound semiconductors, Strained Layer Superlattice as base material. Participate in areas of advanced sensor development that include material growth, device design for P-N and nBn devices, device fabrication, device modeling, testing and data analysis. Design and develop advanced materials and sensing devices for IR imaging, hyperspectral imaging and identification. Participate in multiple areas of advanced sensor system development that include material growth, device design, device fabrication, device modeling, test, data analysis and system integration for conceptual demonstrations. Establish relationship with potential customers and business partners, research funding options and participate in proposal activities. Required Skills: Minimum of six years of professional engineering experience. Direct experience with compound semiconductors infrared materials, growth, device design, modeling and testing. Experience with customer interactions and proposal writing. Experience with and excellent knowledge of photovoltaic detectors and semiconductor device physics. Experience with chemical handling associated with semiconductor wafer processing. Excellent computer, database, and analytical skills. A motivated and self-starting individual who interacts well in a team environment that includes both company colleagues and customers. Desired Skills: Experience with 3/5 and other compound semiconductors, PN and nBn devices, including layer design band gap engineering. Experience with photonic materials and solid state engineering. Knowledge and hands-on experience in analysis and test of photonic materials. Experience in system engineering. Required Education(including Major): Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or Mathematics Masters Degree or PhD (Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or equivalent) preferred.
