Reporting to Head of Fixed Income

Responsibilities:

As Economist you will be required to engage in a diverse and varied range of activities. Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

Analysis of Irish and Euro area economies
Analysis of Irish sovereign and Irish bank debt markets
Topical research pieces
Provide a resource to Fixed Income, Equity Desk, Wealth Management and to Corporate Finance in the Group
Presentations to clients
Daily comment on markets

Core competencies:

Ideal candidates will have an economics / finance degree and relevant experience in the public sector, banking or stockbroking
Candidates will display an ability to analyse and manipulate data for presentation/discussion in a timely manner
A strong background in Excel, financial modelling and forecasting is also important
They will be a self-starter who can maintain and manage a constant flow of relevant product for clients
They will be expected to present the house view on a regular basis to clients, prospective clients and colleagues
The ideal candidate will need to work with Fixed Income and Equity Research
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for this role
