I/S Infrastructure Engineer
This position is responsible for the strategy, architecture, implementation and support of all Apple environments, including mobile devices. The I/S Infrastructure Engineer will have a strong background in enterprise information systems management to include networking, security, mobile device management and systems administration (Mac OS X or Linux preferred). Integrating and supporting mobile devices in the enterprise will be the primary function of this position. Technical troubleshooting and hands-on experience with iOS devices is required. Additional duties include support of executive, creative and other departments’ use of Apple Mac products. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Position reports to Security Manager.
iOS Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Ability to manage, maintain, support, troubleshoot and optimize mobile solution presently in place while making suggestions and adjustments to future needs.
• Define product strategy and roadmap.
• Awareness of what the future is bringing in terms of new products and enhancements to products and how those changes affect our company plans
• Plan, create and deploy (OTA) security and device management policies.
• Distribute enterprise applications for iOS devices
• Assist in maintaining corporate liability iOS device inventory.
• Train end users on iOS device technology.
• Support remote and traveling employees with their iOS connectivity needs.
• Perform all other assigned duties.
MAC OS Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage IT Desktop Support requests, focusing on Mac support.
• Resolve software and hardware support issues on Macs running OS X.
• Support software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Mac OS X.
• Provide integration of Macs into network.
• Handle setup and support of laptops, desktops and printers.
• Work with the IS Platforms – Support and IS Platforms – Architect teams on coordinating cross-team projects.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Troubleshoot and handle repair of warranty and non-warranty hardware.
• Perform all other assigned duties.
Requirements
• Significant experience in a wide range of mobile/cellular devices, cellular carriers required.
• Prior experience with mobile/cellular company is preferred.
• Proven ability to bring forth new ideas for hardware, software and technology innovations to help improve overall efficiency.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and as a team member.
• Strong, clear communication skills including written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Strong people skills, coaching and mentoring experience.
• Experience maintaining mobile/cellular vendor relationships; assist with billing inquires as needed.
• Ability to make hardware and software recommendations.
• Excellent technology problem solving skills and a "can-do" attitude.
• Committed to working scheduled hours and have the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs (including nights and weekends).
• Must be able to self-manage with minimal supervision and nominal re-work.
iOS Experience and Skills Preferred
• Expert knowledge of iOS is critical. Android OS, Blackberry and Windows Mobile is a plus.
• Prior experience with enterprise-scale Over-the-Air Profile Delivery and Configuration.
• Expert understanding of at least one enterprise-level mobile device management application such as Good for Enterprise, MaaS360, BoxTone or AirWatch.
• Experience planning, creating and deploying (OTA) security and device management policies.
• Experience with
o Exchange ActiveSync and iOS devices
o Distributing enterprise applications for iOS deviceso Mobile Device Management (MDM) in iOS
o Virtual Private Network (VPN) setup
o Wireless network (Wi-Fi) setup
• In-depth knowledge of mobile device troubleshooting methods – both client and server-side.
• Functional knowledge of Microsoft Exchange.
• Deep knowledge of Apple operating systems.
• Functional knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
• Solid understanding of networking related to computer operating systems.
• Ability to perform end user training on iOS device technology.
MAC OS Experience and Skills Preferred
• Previous experience in the field, or education (computer science major) or A+ equivalent or Mac OS X certification.
• Proven Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server experience.
• Workstation installation and maintenance.
• Application installation and OS updates.
• Scheduled maintenance routines.
• Knowledge of Ethernet and wireless networks and basic networking (switch, router, wireless).
• Knowledge of graphic arts, multimedia and fonts including Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, Illustrator, InDesign CS2-CS5.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Entourage in an Exchange environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office X thru 2011.
• Knowledge of Font Management Software including Extensis Suitcase, client and server editions.
• Backup Software knowledge (Retrospect, BRU, Time Machine, CrashPlan).
• Knowledge of Apple Classic/Mac OS 9.
