JOB SUMMARY:

**The Microcomputer Specialist is responsible for answering work orders related to Information Technology from the end-users. This position troubleshoots hardware, software and the corresponding configurations. This position helps users learn specific functions using their Information Technology.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

1. To analyze, configure, install and maintain microcomputer workstations, peripherals and software in support of the Medical Center functions.

2. Communicates effectively in order to provide optimal support of all departments' Information systems needs in a manner that promotes a professional climate throughout the Medical Center .

3. Responds to Help Desk requests from end-users; defining priorities, answering questions and resolving problems.

4. Troubleshoots problems with network systems and applications as they relate to the systems' network.

5. Maintains knowledge of current technology.

6. Maintains current and orderly reference library.

7. Works with technical support vendors to resolve end-user issues and problems.

8. Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of NHRMC on a daily basis.

9. Performs other related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

1. Education: BS in Computer Science or related technical degree preferred, while an Associates degree with three years of customer support experience is acceptable.

2. Licensure/Certifications: None required

3. Experience: Three years of customer support in Information Technology

4. Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Must have manual dexterity in the operations of Information Technology.

5. Interpersonal Skills: Must have exceptional communications and organizational skills.

6. Essential Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk up or down one flight of stairs.

7. Essential Mental Abilities: Must be able to assess a situation and apply analytical thinking in order to make good sound decisions.

9. Exposure to Hazards: Normal exposure to Laboratory and patient care areas.

10. Other- Hours of Work: 40 hour week including rotating shift work and after hours on -call support with occasional light travel

11. Population Served: All users of Information Technology within NHHN.
