ISDA Repo Negotiator (German Speaker)

Position Description

Morgan Stanley is looking to recruit a talented ISDA negotiator who is a fluent German speaker. This role will be at Associate level and based in London.

1. Negotiation.
Negotiation of derivatives contracts with market professional and end users. Coverage will include flow negotiations.

2. Liaise with other Business Units.
Liaise with teams who negotiate interest rate, currency, commodities, foreign exchange and other agreements, the Credit, Legal and Risk departments, equity traders, as well as sales people and other internal partners. Encourage co-operation among these groups and a "One-Firm" approach to our clients.

3. Support Departments.
Build strong relationships with support department personnel. Understand their functions and how they can help us develop well-controlled, profitable business. Educate them about our functions and systems.

4. Policies and Procedures.
Contribute to, set and follow policies in the Equity, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Treasury, Operations and Credit departments. Help educate clients, business unit and support staff about these policies and how they impact relationships and transactions.

5. Technology.
Proactively learn about, use and help develop system tools.

6. Files/Records.
Keep organized client and other files, negotiation notes and other materials.

Skills Required

Education Level:
Top academic credentials with relevant and proven post-qualification experience.

Required Experience:
Law firm or in-house position focusing on ISDA CSA.  GMRA/GMSLA experience will be a plus. Emphasis on expert drafting and working through complex transactions. Preferably employed by or seconded to a bank in a documentation or transaction management role. Knowledge of Deutsche Rahmenvertrag and/or FBF would be a plus but not essential.

Essential Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Excellent people skills (will interface with people who have varied skill levels);
Fluent German Speaker
General comfort with Technology (particularly Microsoft Word, any spreadsheets);
Quick learner - including learning internal computer systems; and
Ability to set, track, achieve and report on short/long term goals and projects
