Position Summary:

The Senior Associate – MA candidate will complete proxy advisory service analysis of an assigned group of Canadian companies, taking primary responsibility for MA transaction and related issue analysis and recommendations.
• Help formulate voting policy and standards for analysis of MA transactions, shareholder rights plans, and other related issues at ISS;
• Engage with issuers who are parties to the transactions;
• Engage with ISS clients and respond to client enquiries;
• Source and obtain relevant analysis and data from outside sources;
• Complete analysis of other proxy issues as assigned;
• Contribute written content for Governance Weekly, white papers, proxy season reports, etc.;
• Participate in client/prospect roundtables, meetings, webinars as needed;
• Contribute to annual Policy Review on non-MA issues;
• Contribute to team efforts to create research efficiencies and support product/service development

• Demonstrating initiative and leadership the successful Candidate will contribute to the quality of in-depth financial analysis of transactions and related governance issues requiring a shareholder vote.
• The Candidate’s corporate finance knowledge will evolve technical expertise in MA.
• The Candidate will compliment and work with MA analysts in other ISS offices, as well as promote effective team-oriented development of Canadian research department.
• The Candidate will provide superior client service and communications.
