Responsible for providing ongoing support of all systems (operating, electronic mail and messaging, telephony, network and/or storage SAN) in support of internal and external applications including security. Evaluate and recommend solutions; plan and execute implementation. The scope of these tasks will include installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware, operating systems network hardware, and applications with the objective of providing robust and stable operating platforms and environments. May be responsible with the development and monitoring of security policies. Ensure proper controls are designed into systems and networks, monitor emerging threats and assess risks.
Responsibilities
- Monitor availability, performance and security of computer systems software including operating systems, telephony and/or network systems and utilities, servers, SAN, and other hardware and related application systems.
- Analyzes, installs, configures and maintains operating, network, telephony, and/or other systems software and utilities, servers and other hardware and related applications systems.
- Add, remove and integrate software and hardware into existing systems.
- Test systems and applications software including the impact of software updates and patches.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software systems. Optimize systems performance.
- Conduct inventory of systems components. Monitor and analyze resources including internal memory and disk space.
- Maintain data recoverability. Implement data backup and disaster recovery procedures. Respond to security breaches, service interruptions, and other critical situations to re-establish system, network and/or telephony functionality.
- Respond to complex technical and workstation support requests from users and technical staff.
- Create, monitor, modify and maintain user accounts and implements systems resource use policies.
- Coordinate systems with other internal/external systems and systems administrators.
- Participate in planning for system development and expansion. Participate in systems software and/or hardware projects.
- May manage projects of limited scope or portions of large and/or complex projects.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
