The University of Tennessee is seeking applications for the position of IT Administrator III (Senior Security Specialist) within the Information Security Office. The employee will be responsible for initiating and managing information security related projects, which include: Assisting Information System Owners categorize information systems and selecting the appropriate controls; Creating information systems security plans; Assessing the effectiveness of security controls; Creating plan of action and milestone documents to address planned security controls; Developing information security policies and procedures; Managing security services, such as Compliance and Assessments and Incident Response; Providing security and advanced technical guidance in team environments; and Communicating with senior administration regarding IT security issues.

Required skills are: Experience with NIST's Risk Management Framework - NIST 800-37; Working knowledge of NIST-800-18 series special publications (e.g., SP 800-53); Experience developing and maintaining Information System Security Plans following NIST SP 800-18; and Experience with regulatory compliance. Examples include but are not limited to HIPPA and PCI-DSS.

Desired skills and experience are: Windows (server and desktop), Linux, Oracle and Web Applications; Networking components/firewalls, switches, servers, routers, IDS/IPS, etc. Security assessment methodologies (e.g., NSA IAM).

Certifications (preferred, but not required): Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSP); Certified Information Security Manager (CISM); Project Management Certification; Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC).
