IT Administrator Job in Burnaby, British Columbia Canada

1. Setup, configure with appropriate hardware and provide basic training to all new and existing user accounts

2. Monitoring of helpdesk; providing technical support and ensuring employee needs are met

3. Assist in installing, programming, and troubleshooting all networking equipment (computers, laptops, printers, copiers, and scanners) as well as maintaining inventory records of hardware

4. Perform hands-on installations, fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, and configuring systems and applications

5. Assist in the maintaining and monitoring of the daily backups and any data recoveries when needed

6. Support users in creating and using social media for business

7. Assist in maintaining current documentation of system configurations, inventory and software licenses

8. Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Post-secondary education in Computing and IT

2. Minimum 2-5 years experience in IT support role

3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Work, Outlook, Excel

4. Knowledge of current Microsoft environments including: Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003/2008, Exchange 2010, and Active Directory 2008

5. Mobile device administration, Blackberry BES, Microsoft ActiveSync knowledge is an asset

6. Demonstrated ability to research, analyze and trouble-shoot problems

7. Knowledge of Citrix is an asset

8. Knowledge of VMware ESX desirable
