POSITION OVERVIEW : The Cyber Security Analyst works under direct supervision and follows established procedures. Assignments are usually under guidance from management. Work is reviewed systematically through completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. With guidance, conducts operational tasks, design, development and implementation of computer security and protection technologies for organization's information and process systems/applications. Assists in the research and implementation of computer security for classified and unclassified information security and communications security. The focus for the Cyber Security Analyst is the unclassified network but may also contribute to the cyber security of classified environments. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES : Responsible for the operational tasks for account administration, eDiscovery, incident response, waiver/policy assistance, and implementation of cyber security/protection technologies for Parsons information and process systems/applications. Acts as contact with suppliers to develop technical solutions for computer security needs, and may make recommendations to management. Develops, maintains, and audits the analytical and technical aspects of major computer security systems, and reviews findings with Sr. Cyber Security Specialists. Maintains the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of computer workstations, servers, and local area networks by maintaining user accounts and upgrading systems and software as required. Responsible for secure operations of security equipment, secure transmission of sensitive unclassified information and protection of cryptographic principles and methods. Mitigates threats and vulnerabilities that are associated with potentially compromising corporate and client data. Provides technical support, training, and timely computer system data recovery to end-users. Assists Sr. Cyber Security Specialists with overseeing the investigation of computer security incidents, and acts as an assistant for cyber security initiatives. Conducts operations of computer protection measures, and creates measurement tools for system vulnerability assessments. May serve on project teams and internal committees to represent cyber security interests. May provide assistance to the oversight to the client/server/infrastructure group on appropriate procedures for computer/system security. Qualifications PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 4-year degree in Computer Science (or related curriculum) and at least 2 - 5 years of progressive experience in security or similar experience in IT infrastructure support. Experience in "Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery" or "Governance, Risk, and Compliance tools" or "acess control and access administration" highly preferred. Government clearance desirable. Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) desirable. SKILLS/COMPETENCIES : US citizenship required. Exposure in cyber security is desirable. An understanding of ActiveDirectory user administration tools required. Knowledge of IT security standards and procedures. Demonstrated ability to develop IT security standards and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information technology industry trends and emerging technologies. Ability to relate them to the company and its business objectives. Problem solving and analytical skills. Written and oral communication skills appropriate for the position, including the ability to speak well in basic professional situations (may include communication via telephone or in person). Ability to write basic documents (may include email or memos).
