GENERAL PURPOSE: Experienced IT analyst and technical application lead, working to help implement, enhance, or support merchandising systems with a focus in Allocations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Leads a cohesive team of highly trained professionals, external technical experts and key IT partners and coordinates their efforts in the support of merchandising systems and in the execution of new technology or infrastructure projects, ensuring that: - Solutions are designed or purchased that meet the defined requirements and that execute efficiently. - Participates in project priority setting. Detailed project plans are created, covering the entire life cycle, and associated project budgets. - All required system and support documentation is created accurately. - Projects are completed on time and on budget and anticipated benefits are achieved. - All required system and user documentation is created accurately. - Supporting existing merchandising production systems - Performs capacity planning - Manages backup and recovery processes - Oversees related installation and maintenance activities (whether they be internal or external) - Ensures users receive appropriate training and existing documentation is updated accurately - Ensures all support activities are executed on time and under budget - Ensures that system availability meets agreed upon service level agreements - Defines effective methodologies and processes to enable a proactive work environment, delivering structured, repeatable processes - Coordinating the efforts of internal and external technical staff in the support of merchandising production systems and in the execution of new system projects. - Evaluating technical designs, developing alternatives, and recommending appropriate solutions. - Collaborating with others throughout IT to ensure timely and successful issue resolution. - Preparing effort estimates of technical project components. - Developing project plans. - Identifies new methods of improving system performance and stability. COMPETENCIES: - Technical Competence / Expertise - Interpersonal Effectiveness - Drive for Results - Influence - Analysis and Judgment - Business Acumen - Communication - Teamwork QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Required Skills and Qualifications: - At least 7-10 years experience supporting retail systems, with at least 5 of those years in a complex heterogeneous computing environment supporting merchandising systems. - Solid understanding of retail dynamics within a complex, highly integrated environment. - Solid understanding of merchandising and supply chain technology and allocations systems within a complex, highly integrated environment. - Demonstrated career progression in technical depth and breadth, and project complexity. - Very technically competent - Working experience with UNIX and Windows operating systems - Working experience with Oracle Retail and / or JDA applications - Experience implementing and/or supporting major retail applications - Strong analytical, problem solving, root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills. - Able to supervise other internal technicians, analysts and external vendor resources. - Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
