IT Application Manager Job in Edmonton, Alberta Canada
Eagle is currently seeking one (1) IT Application Manager. This contract opportunity is slated to begin in April, and is projected to be twelve (12) months in length.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing centralized oversight for production and maintenance of all business models;
- Providing direction, oversight and coordination of resources in the development of a Business Architecture;
- Managing vendors engaged to provide IT professional services;
- Evaluating and selecting qualified technology partners through an ongoing RFQ process;
- Managing IT projects from inception to completion;
- Researching, evaluating, estimating, recommending and developing senior management proposals;
- Procuring and implementing information technology and solutions to support the business operational objectives;
- Ensuring adequate and appropriate training is provided to the business for the effective use of IT assets;
- Managing the IT Business Analysts to understand and document business requirements to support automation of the business functions;
- Ensuring appropriate data capture and measures are in place to support corporate reporting;
- Overseeing and establishing a help desk governance structure that supports a single point of contact owning the incident from start to finish;
- Developing the IT budget; and,
- Assisting with IT Planning.
Skills and Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have:
- A Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Data Management or Information Science/Management or related discipline or a minimum of 10 years equivalent experience;
- A minimum of 7 years in relevant IT management experience;
- Proven project management experience and successful delivery, specifically experience with application development project management;
- Above-average organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
- The ability to take direction but also capable of working without supervision or direction;
- The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and manage multiple priorities;
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; and,
- Proficiency with MS office applications.
