Status:                        Part-time, non-exempt (25-30 hours a week)

Summary:

Leading Authorities Inc., one of the nation’s most prominent speakers bureaus with a multi-faceted portfolio, is seeking a part-time IT Assistant.  This position is based in our Washington, DC office and will assist the technology department with computer hardware, network maintenance, software applications, system and network administration and end-user support for approximately 60 users.  

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

-           Serves as the first level support for end users including computer software and hardware troubleshooting, repair, and updating

-           Receives and processes requests/tickets for IT assistance 

-           Researches, troubleshoots and resolves IT issues as required

-           Assist with the installation of computer equipment and software

-           Printer, copier and fax equipment support troubleshooting

 -          Maintains department supplies and inventory records

-           Lifts and transports moderately heavy objects, such as computers peripherals

-           Assists with creation and updates to existing systems documentation

-           Orientation, set up and training of new staff

-           Setup and operation of A/V and videoconferencing equipment for internal and client meetings and events

-           Performs other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

 

-           2 years of help desk, end-user systems and application support experience with solid technical troubleshooting skills

-           Bachelors degree or currently pursuing bachelors program in computer programming, information technology or related discipline

-           Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft operating systems

-           Strong knowledge of PC operations, installation, and maintenance

-           Familiarity with LAN/WAN/WAP technologies and cabling

-           Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-           Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and resolve requests in a fast-paced environment

-           Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language

-           Ability to lift 50lbs independently

-           A+, Net+, MS Certifications desirable, not required

-           All employees must successfully pass a criminal background check 

 

Compensation: 

$15 to $20 an hour based on skill level and experience
