IT Business Analyst
Our client one of the worlds leading Asset Management companies is looking to recruit a Business Analyst to join the Investment Services and Fund Accounting Technology team.
We are looking for a Business Analyst who has solid business analysis skills, but has the ability to handle project management activities and will also possess solid technical skills.
The individual will have responsibility for delivery of projects or will work with senior PM's on larger projects within the portfolio. The successful candidate will be accountable for the projects and workstreams they own and will be expected to have a hands on approach to project delivery and have the ability to get into the detail and analyse the requirements. We are looking for someone who will role their sleeves up and get into the detail of project work.
Experience of working within an Asset Servicing function would be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Ownership and responsibility for all project activity, where appropriate, filling the PM role on a project
- Provide common direction for project teams and ensures project goals are consistent
- Primary contact - ownership, responsibility and accountability for success of projects
- Responsible for managing dependencies, constraints and time/resource/cost conflicts across projects. Define budget requirements for the project based on all resource needs.
- Effectively identify and manage all sponsors and stakeholders
- Ability to define and translate business requirements into system requirements and system design specifications including the definition of functional testing scenarios on smaller projects and take a PM/BA role
- Liaise with business stakeholders, solution architects, systems stakeholders, support and other development teams including off-shore delivery teams
- Provide timely and accurate status updates
- Ensure project closures occur in accordance with operational acceptance criteria
- Manage and resolve risks and issues to conclusion escalating as appropriate
- Work within the defined project lifecycle methodology
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of project methodologies and practices ( i.e. FSDM, PMI, Prince 2)
- Knowledge of the investment/ asset/ fund management business with asset servicing experience desirable
- Project management/business analyst experience gain within the financial services sector
- Experience of business process re-engineering, analysis, user requirement gathering, gap analysis workshop facilitation
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the end-to-end business process
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability to deal with project situations
- Demonstrates the skill to make appropriate autonomous decisions
- Demonstrates client relationship skills
- Demonstrates effective problem solving skills
- Take ownership and accountability
