IT Business Analyst – Sourcing Development Team

C.H. Robinson's dedicated IT Team consists of 350+ highly skilled individuals working in unison to help our customers achieve their business goals. We develop most of our own applications in-house and have a sophisticated enterprise application suite based on the Microsoft platform.

Position Description
We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Sourcing Development Team. We have an
entrepreneurial and dynamic culture that promotes creativity, personal initiative and team
collaboration. Our team works with the C.H. Robinson Sourcing and Sourcing Logistics
business to deliver high quality solutions in a timely manner.

This person will focus on detailed analysis and testing activities. This analytical person must
be comfortable collaborating with others in the business and IT to deliver valuable solutions to

Responsibilities
- Work with the business and other stakeholders to gather, review, analyze, evaluate and recommend requirements
- Scenario definition and modeling
- Create functional specifications
- Work with the architects and developers to translate requirements to system design and configure the system to satisfy requirements
- Create test plans, test cases and perform functional testing
- Serve as a liaison to other application development teams in planning, coordination, development and deployment of multi-team projects
- Address issues, mitigate risks, communicate status to IT Management and other IT teams for the duration of a project
- Work with project manager to provide estimates and manage project time line
- Proactively maintain an understanding of the CHR's business practices
- Provide innovative ideas and solutions to an ever-changing environment
- Create and maintain user and system related documentation
- Identify, analyze and understand complex business problems and synthesize information from multiple sources

Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years experience in information technology with at least 3 years in the Business Analyst role
- Great analysis, problem solving and organization skills
- Demonstrated success in development and delivery of information technology solutions
- Effective listening, verbal, and written skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft suite of products
- Quality conscious mind, passionate about quality and takes pride in their work
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-pace development environment
- Excellent follow-through skills; is able to take a problem and see it through to its solution
- A proactive and assertive self-starter
- Enthused about providing the best service to clients and a quality product
- A team player who can work independently, but can recognize when a collaborative approach is needed

Preferred Qualifications
- Any prior experience with the Dynamics AX platform
- Knowledge of the fresh produce and/or transportation industry
- Experience with life cycle management solutions such as Team Foundation Server
- Knowledge of perishable supply chain systems

Required Education
Undergraduate degree in business administration, computer science/software engineering, or equivalent work experience.
