IT Business Architect
We have an exciting opportunity for Technology Business Architects, with Product Development backgrounds, to join our upwardly mobile and highly visible team as part of the Applications Services Group. In this exciting role, you will be leading collaborative solutioning sessions between the business and IT resources to identify best solution to meet business capabilities and cost expectations. You will work in an interactive and incremental manner, learning and adapting the business plan on a regular basis. Professionals in this function deliver professional level technical work in support of the development of company products, tools, platforms and services, typically for an external customer or end user.
The candidate hired will be accountable for (but not limited to) the below objectives:
- Working with product owners and users to define business requirements and solution options from business visions, ideas and needs
- Representing the users and product owners in all defined process activities for requirement and solution analysis and the agile methodology for software development
- Creating and maintain all required documentation for requirements
- Participating in the planning and execution of product user acceptance testing
- Providing business knowledge, as needed, to agile software development teams
- Collaborating and assisting product owners and users in the definition of product acceptance criteria, value analysis and the priority ranking of requirements
- Operating within established methodologies, procedures, and guidelines
- Applying knowledge of principles and techniques to solve technical problems
- Working closely with other functions to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps
- Communicating effectively with business / customers to identify business needs, requirements and evaluate alternative business solutions
- Facilitating effective team interactions with business and technical team
- Identifying critical issues with ease, taking ownership to resolve in a timely manner
- Seeking proactively opportunities to serve in leadership roles
- Developing user stories from business requirements and selected solution
- Participating in user acceptance testing efforts
- Ensuring issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner

- 4+ years as an IT Business Solutions Architect in a large enterprise environment
- 4+ years in a close, collaborative teamwork environment where utilizing IT and business skills was required
- 3+ years in a strong Customer Relationship Management role
- 2+ years hands-on experience with Agile Software Development methods
- 2+ years or more working efficiently with off-shore development team and business resources to identify user acceptance testing required changes
- Experience with at least on of the following: Web, Cloud or Mobility business Architecture
- Ideation
- Analysis and solution definition
- Experience with both business and systems analysis
- Strong understanding of the full Software Development life cycle (SDLC)

- Scrum SW Development method
- Product Development
- 2 or more years industry experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals or another closely related product line preferred
- Experience with Business Architecture or Product Development at UnitedHealth Group
- Advanced degree
