IT Continuity/Disaster Recovery Manager

Our client located in Nashville, TN is currently searching for candidates for an IT Continuity/Disaster Recovery Manager opportunity. This is a 1 year contract opportunity with the possibility of direct hire for the right individual.
Scope of Work: This position manages the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program for the ITS Department. Typical duties include:
- Coordinate the development, maintenance, audit and exercising of all ITS departmental BC/DR plans Work with ITS staff to conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) for company projects and systems
- Perform Risk Assessments for systems, services or lines of business as needed
- Develop Business Continuity Strategies leveraging the outcome of BIAs and Risk Assessments to set RTOs and RPOs appropriately
- Coordinate BC/DR activities with companies Information Security initiative
- Review and exercise action plans to facilitate Crisis Communications during a disaster.
- Review literature, consult with experts, and coordinate with vendors to identify appropriate hardware and/or software solutions to complex problems
- Prepare complex written documents such as RFPs, report to top management, budget or other proposals
- Present difficult technical material to technical and non-technical audiences
- Serve on or chair inter-departmental committees addressing disaster recovery policy
- Coordinate between departments with mutual interests in BC/DR projects to facilitate cooperation
- Work with ITS staff to consult on implementation of backup and recovery procedures as needed
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Industry certification such as ABCP, CFCP, CBCP or MBCP
- 6+ years of experience in the IT industry
- Knowledge of best practices and industry standards around Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery management
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) doctrine
- Microsoft industry certifications such as MCDBA, MCE or MCSE
- Ability to learn quickly and understand the operations of customer agencies
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in interpreting and applying procedures to specific cases
- Ability to analyze complex information and solve difficult problems
- Ability to organize and plan small, medium and large scale projects effectively using project management principles and tools
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through verbal and written channels to a broad audience
